Dr. Alan Greene is one of the chief instigator’s behind the “WhiteOut” campaign to end junk food for babies.
Let’s reverse a half century of habit. Let Kids’ first bite be real food – such as mashed avocado, banana, sweet potato, or whole grains (like whole oats or brown rice). There’s no good reason not to. They won’t mind at all. They’ll thank you.
Dr. Maring, an OB/GYN physician with Kaiser Permanente since 1971, is the inspiration behind Kaiser Permanente’s Farmer’s Markets. He has a life long passion for cooking. You can find his cooking videos on YouTube.

The plans for HealthCampSFBay are dropping in to place nicely. The event takes place on Friday September 23rd, 2011 at the world-renowned Sidney R. Garfield Innovation Center in San Leandro, CA.
Our “Fire Starter” speakers are confirmed. We are honored to have Dr. Alan Greene and Dr. Preston Marring opening HealthCampSFBay. They will be firing you all up about the critical role of good food as the key to health.
We will have plenty of Food and Exercise related activities taking place throughout the day. We will be updating the web site with more information as plans are finalized. We will be providing a Bus between San Leandro BART Station and the Innovation Center. Save yourself the hassle of traveling by car. Use Public Transport and catch our Bus. There is a nominal $5 fee to help defray the cost of the service which is being provided by our generous sponsors, Kaiser Permanente.
We are still working on the schedule and theme(s) for HealthCampSFBay. We want to tie in nutrition and exercise as a route to vitality.
We are inviting people in the Quantified Self (#QS) movement to join in and demonstrate some of the innovations they are pursuing to develop their self knowledge.
We are happy to announce the beginning of a new planning season for HealthCamp SFBay! We have just locked down Friday, September 23, 2011 as our date and will again be hosting at the Garfield Health Care Innovation Center. We will continue to provide an open venue to explore and share new ideas in healthcare innovation. Please check back for more details!
