Adrian Gropper (web, twitter) is coming to HealthCamp Boston.
Adrian, please tell us a little about your day job.
I’m a medical device developer/ entrepreneur. I build things for doctors to use that have a lot of software and connect to the Web. I also advocate for patient and physician-centered policies with a number of organizations.
What are you passionate about?
Appropriate medical technology that preserves privacy, serves the physician-patient relationship rather than the institution and values open source software and community support.
What are you doing to “hack” health care?
I participate in many public and professional forums where policy is made or discussed. These include my state medical society, my state health information exchange, state-level health system legislation, Patient Privacy Rights, the Society for Participatory Medicine, VRM, CHC, NSTIC, and Direct and BlueButton-related standards groups.
Why are you attending HealthCamp Boston?
To stay in touch with the health innovation community.
If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?
Privacy-preserving technologies for identity management, consent management, access to implanted medical devices and their interaction with MU Stage 2 mandates and federal initiatives.
What kinds of people do you want to meet at HealthCamp?
People with a shared interest in technology policy.
See you soon, Adrian.
