About HCSFBay

HealthCamp SFBay is a HealthCamp.

HealthCamp is a national movement led by volunteers focused on putting social media, open source and the best of the Internet, Mobile Web and process innovation to work for better health care and health technology.

It is a user-organized “un–conference” movement that brings consumers, health providers, health industry experts and technology professionals together for a one day event to exchange ideas informally, locally, openly. Participants themselves provide the content, with break-out sessions they develop themselves and plug into a schedule grid on the day of the event. Anyone can present and host a session in nearly any format. If you have questions, please contact mconnary{at}gmail {dot} com.

HealthCamp SFBay, the Health 2.0 Accelerator, and Health 2.0 Developer Challenge joined forces with Kaiser Permanente to host HealthCamp – Accelerating Health Care Innovation, an event at the Kaiser Permanente Sidney R. Garfield Health Care Innovation Center in San Leandro, CA, on September 23, 2011.

  • HealthCamp SFBay is a gathering of software developers, technologists, doctors, nurses, innovators, designers and health care technology media who come together to talk about health care innovations.
  • Health 2.0 Accelerator is a consortium of Health 2.0 companies working together to advance consumer-centric health care by driving the integration of technology and the consumer experience.
  • Health 2.0 Developer Challenge was launched during the Community Health Data Initiative (CHDI) meeting in June, and is supported by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to help solve health care issues though creative and collabortive team sourcing. Any challenge can be submitted and volunteer teams self assemble to take on the projects.
  • Kaiser Permanente is one of America’s leading health care providers and not-for-profit health plans with the world’s largest electronic health record, 14,000 physicians, 8.6 million members and 450 hospitals and clinics in nine states and the District of Columbia. The Garfield Innovation Center (kp.org/innovationcenter) is the only setting of its kind that brings together technology, architecture and workflow innovation all at one location. Nurses, doctors and patients collaborate to spawn innovation, brainstorm and test tools and programs for patient-centered care in mock hospital, clinic and home environments.
