Look who’s coming to #HCbos – Mory Bahar

Mory Bahar (web, twitter) is coming to HealthCamp Boston.

Please tell us a little about your day job.

I lead a start-up focused on software and technology that provides highly personalized health and nutrition guidance to consumers. We aggregate and draw content from primarily government sources to produce easy to understand and actionable info on how to use nutrition and food items found in our kitchens and grocery stores to tackle our health challenges.

What are you passionate about?

Preventive-care, self-care, addressing health issues through nutrition and fitness as opposed to the traditional medical treatments. Sometimes I feel that everyone is focused on patient care, patient handling, medical treatments, patient billing, etc. and no one is focused on ensuring that people do not become a patient to begin with. The latter is much more important that the former. If we did a better job with the latter, the former would be a less formidable problem to tackle.

What are you doing to “hack” health care?

Empowering people through information about how to improve one’s health, address chronic conditions, and lower risk of illnesses. We provide that info via various phone apps, our web site and our software that companies can use or integrate with their systems.

Why are you attending HealthCamp Boston?

Learn. Stay up-to-date. Create awareness for what we are doing.

If you were to lead a session, what would it be about?

Use of software, knowledgebase, phone apps … to empower consumers to improve their health via nutrition, diet, exercise and life style changes.

What kinds of people do you want to meet at HealthCamp?

Companies interested in improving their products, services and systems to provide more personalized info about health and nutrition to employees, customers and consumers, e.g., insurance companies, fortune 1000 companies, grocery stores, weight loss companies, etc. People who can join our team as advisers or co-founders.

See you at HealthCamp Boston!
